Klein, Calvin (Richard)
(n. 19 nov. 1942, Nueva York, N.Y., EE.UU.).

Diseñador de modas estadounidense. Asistió al Fashion Institute of Technology. Abrió su propia compañía en 1968, cuando estaba de moda la ropa casual, estilo hippie, pero tomó una dirección diferente al diseñar vestuario sencillo, sobrio y elegante. Aunque en un principio destacó por sus trajes y abrigos, poco a poco fue poniendo mayor énfasis sobre la ropa deportiva, especialmente en prendas de vestir fáciles de combinar e intercambiar. Fue el primer diseñador en ganar tres premios Coty consecutivos (1973–75) en la categoría de vestuario femenino. Entre los años 1980 y 1990 se hizo conocido por su vestuario, cosméticos, mantelería, sábanas y otras colecciones de marca, así como por sus eróticas fotografías publicitarias, algunas de las cuales han ocasionado protestas públicas. Sus logros representaron la maduración de la industria de la moda de EE.UU.
